The Alfred Hitchcock Memorial Bathroom
What started out as a simple repair project which I thought I would finish in a week, turned into a complete bathroom renovation lasting 3 months.
The
work began in October, 1998, and originally only involved the installation of a
glass block window and re-tiling
the tub/shower. But I soon realized that as
long as I was going to this
much trouble, I might as well
do a little more and really do it up right. Right?
One job begat another. And after
doing the window and
the tile, new paint, wallpaper, exhaust fan, new pedestal sink, two new light fixtures,
vinyl floor, new plumbing
hardware, bird stencils, and a shower door, the job was done.
I was aided by my uncle with critical jobs like
plumbing, electrical, and framing the window. I did all the
other work myself. And except
for painting, all of the
other jobs were firsts for me. Now I'm an expert!
But now, I also know better. So don't
ask.
