Lavandula
Angustifolia "Vera"
Looking upon a well established,
well grown Lavender, I find myself wondering if there is a more
perfect plant. In form and habit it grows in a most
lovely shape, it's long slender stems arching upward giving the
plant a graceful urn-like appearance.
Lavender's warm fresh fragrance has long been associated with
cleanliness and purity as it has been used for centuries in the
washing and storing of clothes. It's name comes from the
Latin lavare meaning "to wash," and the Middle
English word lavendere, meaning a "washer of linen"
evolved into launderer.
Though it has had some minor medicinal uses it's prime virtues
lie in it's beauty.
Beauty of shape and form and color and fragrance.
