In the Fall of 1998, I broke ground on what would turn out to be a four-year garden project, the creation of a Front Garden. With most of the major features of the Back Garden completed, I turned my attention to the front yard which mostly consisted of a poorly maintained lawn.
Year after year, little by little I dug out sod (by hand) and expanded the garden beds one section at a time. I would finish each new garden bed before starting the next, that way I was able to maintain a "finished" look as the work progressed.
By the Spring of 2002, the last of the lawn was finally removed, and the creation of the Front Garden was complete.Return to Index
