Harvest Moon Lavender on Highway 96 outside of Willow Creek fell into full harvest swing last week. Our small, family owned business called members further afield to return home for the harvest which stretches over a two week window.

We grow four varieties of lavender which mature at different times, easing the intensity of our gathering. The lavender plants mature around four years of age, continuing to produce until they are about seven years old. Our five hundred plants are now between one and four years old, and we expect to plant five to six hundred more this fall.

Harvest Moon specializes in culinary lavender. Our meat and vegetable Bigfoot Rub, Bigfoot Brine and Smoke, Herbs-De Provence, and Lavender Shortbread Cookie Mix are sold locally and on the coast. We also make a natural pet product line, sold locally. Our farm is open by appointment most of the year and will be a venue for Taste of Willow Creek on September fourteenth, offering samples and gifts from our Art Gallery and gift shop. Don't miss the lavender ice cream -- its outrageous!

For appointments and information on our farm please call 530-629-2090 or stop by 1670 Hwy. 96. and honk.
