Hart Dad

The following are extracts from a letter to my son.

The varsity started only three seniors, David Neill, the quarterback, John Harrison, a defensive end of backup running back and a third kid I cannot recall. Three sophomores also started. The rest were all juniors. There are only 38 players on the varsity. There are 28, count 'em 28, cheerleaders. The Hart running back, Billy Brecht, was pretty impressive, running for about 140 yards. He averaged about ten yards a carry. He's little, strong, accelerates quickly, well-balanced and loves to hit.

The starting quarterback, David Neill, did reasonably well. He had three interceptions and two touchdowns. Kyle Boller, the backup had one touchdown pass as well. He almost had a second on a Hail Mary at the end of the first half.
