Here's the short story. Norton was 17 of 21 for 4 TDs and 370 yards IN THE FIRST HALF.
He finished at 24 of 31 for 6 TDs and 461 yards. He also had 15 straight completions at one point. Ciccone had 7 catches
for 149 yards and 3 TDS (including an 80 yarder), Surratt had 7 catches for 167 yards and 2 TDs, Wolfe had 8 catches for 92
yards and Whitmore had 2 for 43. Howell had 10 carries for 34 yards and 2 TDs but that is a little deceiving because of a
couple of those were short yardage situations where he ran for the TDs.
Here's the detail: Hart kicked off short and Chino got a nice return and started at the 40: run for 3, pass for 5, run
for 9, incomplete, run for 2, sack for -5 and punt.
Hart started at the 11: The first play was a pitch to Howell and a 3 yard run, pass to Whitmore for 17, incomplete, pass
to Ciccone for 9, run by Norton for 2 (sneak for a first down), incomplete, run by Howell for 1 and then another incomplete
and a punt with a great roll on the end for Hart.
Chino started at the 17: run for 2, incomplete and then a very short shovel pass which ended up as an 81 yard TD play.
From my perspective, I'd didn't even see the pass and the QB got leveled on a blitz but then all of sudden the Chino guys
just trampelled through the middle of the Hart defense for the TD (some REALLY fast offensive linemen in that crew). 7-0 Chino
at 5:26
Hart to the ball on the 20 (Chino kicker has got a heckuva leg): Pass to Ciccone for an 80 yard touchdown and it was 7-7
at 5:15.
Chino got a little return on the next kickoff but fumbled. Hart recovered on the 17 but got backed up 5 on a procedure
penalty. The next play was a 23 yard pass to Wolfe for the TD and it was 14-7 Hart at 5:00 in the first quarter.
Chino started on the 28: run for 5, run for 8, run for 2, swing pass for 4, pass for 13, run/FUMBLE.
Hart got the ball on the 38: pass to Wolfe for 6, incomplete, pass to Ciccone for 27, run by Howell for 6 (with half the
Chino team on his back), pass to Wolfe for 12, pass to Ciccone for 5, run by Howell for 3 and run by Howell for 2 and the
TD. Hart 21-7 with :04 in the first quarter.
Chino started the next series at the 8 and had a nice play on first down called back on a hold putting the Cowboys back
to the 8: run for 4, pass for 11 (shovel), run by the QB for 13 on 3rd down after he was flushed, pass for 15 (almost picked
by Ciccone), pass for 5, run for 13, incomplete (almost picked by Surratt), run for 1 (semi-sack), then another huge play,
a 31- yard draw right up the middle for the TD. 21-14 at 7:13.
Hart once again started on the 20. Pass to Surratt for 45, pass to Surratt for 35 and the TD. hart 28-14 at 6:37.
Chino started at the 19: run for 4, run for 1, incomplete and punt.
Hart started at the 30: pass to Wolfe for 7, run (draw) to Howell for 16, run by Howell for 2, run by Norton for 0, pass
to Wolfe for 10 and then pass to Surratt for 25 and a TD. hart 35-14 at 2:48.
Chino started at the 35: incomplete, run for 11, run for 4 (QB flush), pass for 13, incomplete, incomplete, illegal procedure,
run for 1 and then a 56 yard field goal attempt that barely missed (and it was a mile high to boot!).
Hart started at the 20: pass to Surratt for 9, pass to Wolfe for 12, SACK for -6, pass to Wolfe for 13 and then pass to
Surratt for 35 to end the half.
Hart took the second half kickoff and started at the 20: pass to Surratt for 11, pass to Surratt for 17 and then a fumble
the end of the play.
Chino took over a the 45: run for 0, run (reverse) for 2, incomplete and the run for 7 on fourth down.
Hart took over at the 37: pass to Whitmore or 26, [incomplete] but a roughing the passer call - Norton really got leveled
[okay experts how is this scored -- an imcomplete or no play], run by Howell for 0, pass to Wolfe for 9, pass to Ciccone on
a spectacular catch in the endzone and a 14 yard TD. Hart 42-14 at 8:32.
Chino started at the 31 and I think the panic set in a little bit as the Cowboys started to try to do stuff beyond their
capability: run for -1, pass down field intercepted by Surratt and returned about 30 yards to the Chino 13: Sack for -6, pass
to Wolfe for 6, incomplete and then another incompleted on 4th down.
Chino took over on the 13: run for 4, run for 2, incomplete, punt BLOCKED and then caught a short way down field by Hetman
who returned to the 14. Pass to Ciccone for 11 and then another great catch by Ciccone for a 3 yard TD and it was 49-14 at
4:50 in the third.
Chino started at the 21: run for 2, run for -1 and then an INT by Meza way down field.
Hart started at the 45 and Moore went in for Norton at QB: run by Howell for -1, illegal procedure, incomplete, incomplete
and punt.
Chino started at the 27. On the first play Moore intercepted down field and returned it about 54 yards to the 1. A penalty
moved it half the distance. Moore tried to run it in and Chino was assessed an unsportsmanlike conduct (Isn't that an automatic
first down?) and another half the distance. Hart made two more attempts but got nowhere and the quarter ended. Howell was
sent back out and punched it in for a 56-14 yard lead at 11:58.
On the next series for Chino (which started at the 26) the Cowboys consumed almost 8 minutes on a 14 play (all runs) drive
for a TD. The PAT missed and it was 56-20 at 4:26. Chino tried an on-side kick that did not work. Hart basically went three
and out (some penalties in there) and then Chino ran out the clock.
The Indians had a few kids that got a little banged up. Scott Amorelli was hurt last week and is gone for the season.
Hart's had a couple of linemen who have been banged up the last couple of weeks with one subbing for the other. Wolfe had
a great night on offense and played a lot on defense too. Actually I think a little of the Chino success early in the game
came from taking advantage of a little confusion on the Hart side of the ball (Wolfe to OLB, Howell to Corner, Surratt at
corner etc etc -- later in the game Hart went back to the defense they had been using for the last several games and put in
Meza at one of the corner spots. It was pretty much lights out for Chino after that.
Next week: San Clemente!
