Hart Dad
2003-Burbank
Home

Not much of a game. Hart scored on every possession in the first half. Burbank had no first downs in the first half and had net about 10 yards (and if you figure in penalties, it was a significant minus).

Norton was 20 of 27 for 241 yards and 3 TDs in the first half. Howell had 93 yards on 12 carries and 3 TDs in the first half.

Norton and Howell played two plays in the second half before the subs starting coming in on offense. The subs started coming in on defense shortly thereafter and Burbank finally scored at 5:02 left in the game.

I'll post some more details later.

Hart started the first series at the 35 (the kick was out of bounds) and scored on 10 plays, the TD coming on a 2 yard run by Howell. The big play in the series was a 25 pass to Surratt. Hart 7-0.

Burbank started at the 25. The first play was an incomplete, the second a 6 yard run. The third play was illegal procedure (the bain of Burbank). On the repeat of third down, Howell blitzed and knocked the pass up into the air, then intercepted it and returned it to the 10.

Norton ran on the first play for 4 yards and then had two incompletes (the second a pass to the goal line on the far right side of the field that was close to an INT which would have been returned the length of the field). Hart kicked a field goal and it was 10-0.

Burbank: sack, illegal procedure, run for 1, flush and run for 11 and punt.

Hart started at the 21 and went on a 10-play drive with Howell scoring on a 3-yard run. Hart 17-0 at the end of the quarter.

Burbank: pass for 3, incomplete, sack and punt.

Hart started at started at the 38 and scored on 9 plays. The TD was a 15-yard pass to Ciccone. Hart 24-0.

Burbank: Illegal procedure, run for 0, run for 0, sack and grounding for minus 10 and punt. The punt was very very short.

Hart started at the Burbank 24 and Hart scored on 2 passes to Ciccone. The TD was a 6-yarder. Hart 31-0.

Burbank: run for 0, run for minus 3, incomplete and punt.

Hart started at the Burbank 32 and scored in two plays, the TD on a 16-yard run by Howell. Hart 38-0.

Burbank: Inc., pass for 2, inc., punt.

Hart, starting at the 46, scored in 3 plays, the TD was a 34-yard pass to Terry Leigh, his first TD of the season.

Burbank: 17 yard loss on a sack plus an intentional grounding, run for 2, run for 14 and punt. Hart had the ball for one play and then it was half time.

Burbank had 6 yards of offense from scrimmage in the first half. Throw in the penalties and it was about minus 20.

Hart had about 334 yards of offense in the first half. It might have been a lot more but Hart was playing from a pretty short field throughout the second quarter.

The second half was pretty quiet. Bryan Toledo had 45 yards on 4 carries but then appeared to injured his lower leg and was never in the game again.

Robbie Moore threw 6 passes for 5 completions and 25 yards. Unfortunately, his last pass was also caught -- by Burbank -- for Hart's only turnover of the night.

Hart had no penalties last week against Loyola. This week Hart had a hold in the first half, a deliberate delay of game at the very end of the fourth quarter and one other penalty on Burbank's last possession.

Next week: CANYON.
