The most memorable regular season game for me was the Burroughs game played at Burroughs. Hart was up 50-0 by half-time and pulled all the starters. The first half featured a 98-yard pass play, Delmatoff to Deriek Charles, the running back, a school record until 2003. The second half, involving Hart's second and third stringers, was a battle royal. Hart's backups couldn't really put it together and did not score. The Burroughs kids finally got to somewhere around the Hart 35 very late in the game (it may have been their only foray past the 50) but then got stuffed on three downs. Rather than punt, they opted to kick a 50+ yard field goal. It was good! The Burroughs crowd erupted as if their boys had won the Super Bowl. Final 50-3. I'm sure that 50 points in a half is a Hart record.

Clearly, two of the stars on the team were up and coming juniors: Soren Halladay who played wide receiver and strong safety and John McLaughlin, who at 6'4" and 220, was surely the biggest cornerback in all of Southern California.

Delmatoff was the seventh consecutive all-CIF quarterback selection.

Deriek Charles was also selected as all CIF.
