Jim Bonds 26 completions against Verbum Dei in the playoffs was a Hart record.

He also set the single season record for touchdown passes at 39, the previous record being 23 by his brother, Tom Bonds.

And then there's this quote from the Daily News:

"Hart ball boy Steve McKeon [later 2-time all-CIF quarterback and now Captain in the United States Army] eating nachos on the field. His hands were covered with cheese, and he was the one responsible for keeping the ball dry and clean. Perhaps a ball covered with cheese is the secret to quarterback Jimmy Bonds' spirals."
