Big Ben and the Painted Ball
For want of a nail, the shoe was lost.
For want of a shoe, the horse was lost.
For want of a horse, the rider was lost.
For want of a rider, the battle was lost . . . .
The 2001 team had been senior-heavy. It was clear the 2002 version would be junior-heavy. Could all those young kids
fill the shoes of their predecessors?
In the end, the answer was almost yes . . .
But . . . for want of a good right thumb, a snap was lost, for want of a good snap . . . . A good right thumb and Hart
probably would have been the champion. Or an unpainted ball.
