I Have been involved in music since my youth. I was a church organist
in my teens and then went on to study guitar, accordion, voice, piano, and harpsichord. I began my harp studies thirteen
years ago during my training to be a Music Thanatologist. My specialty is the music
of the Celtic Isles and also that of the Medieval (Gregorian Chant, Cantigas, Laude, Estampie) and Renaissance periods.
I have a deep love for the American music of the Shaker and Shape Note traditions.
I graduated from New York University (NYC) in 1984 with a BFA in Photography and went on to study theater
arts. I graduated from the Chalice of Repose Project's School of Music-Thanatology (Missoula,
MT) in 1996 at which time I moved to Seattle to start a practice (Sacred Harmonies) with my colleague Jeri Howe. In 2001 I
moved to the Portland area and was invited to join SACREDFLIGHT, a music thanatology practice in Portland. I am now
working as a Music Thanatologist at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Eugene, Oregon.
I have been performing for a number of years and have been part of ensembles which have recorded
two CDs: "Geography of the Soul" (1996) and "Dance Music of Western Europe:
1450 - 1650" (1999). I have recently completed work on my first solo CD: "The Wayfaring Pilgrim" and was music director and co-producer of the CD: "Loom
Of Love" , a creative musical collaboration with music-thanatologists from around the Pacific Northwest. Both
of these CDs released in the Fall of 2005. I have also completed four books of music arranged for harp
and voice which is also listed on my product pages. Thank you.
