Many solitary dogs, because you can always trust a dog alone. To get up on the couch as soon as you leave; to scratch fleas until they are hopping all over the place, to steal the pot roast, given the chance; and lie in the dark in the middle of the hallway. Ruth likes the idea of dogs (sculpture) falling off paintings. She likes the humor in that. A painting can not hold onto a dog. Everytime, a dog would rather wander off and lay around somewhere. That is an idea she would like to make.
