New Exhibit of Punk Rock Pictures

It was heaven, escaping the small town, into the city late night. To Mabuhay Gardens, the San Francisco Pilipino restaurant on Broadway, which at 11 pm in 1977 turned into the blasting, jumping jukejoint of the new rebel music called Punk Rock.
At least 15 years older than anyone else in the club , he wondered why they didn't check his ID at the door (There could have been a policy of "No One Over 25 Allowed").

Thrashing, slamming, po-going down front, he belonged, enjoying the ecstatic, mock violence as much as any kid. "The Dills", "Dead Kennedys", "The Avengers", "The Offs", "Black Flag", "D.O.A.", "K.G.B.", and many memorable others, played their noise sets "louder, faster, shorter", hurling themselves repeatedly into the crowd, the music, raising a ruckus.

He sometimes carried a little point and shoot camara, sometimes got off a few shots, fixed focus, auto flash. Sometimes the crowd objected, he then felt older, like the only one there who knew historical images were there and should be taken. If they objected, he stuffed the camara into his jacket pocket, bounced back into the thick of it.

Now twenty years later, he wants to show the little gems.
