The Fulton County Saddle Club was organized in 1944 by a group of horsepersons from the northwest Ohio area.  The initial purpose of the Club as stated in its by-laws was to promote more interest in the western horse, to promote better horse shows and rodeos, to promote and maintain interest in trail rides, to broaden the acquaintance between horse people and their activities and to create better sportsmanship in horse activities and to promote better legislation concerning National, State, County, and local equine laws.  Any U.S. citizen is eligible for membership.  All members 14 years and older are eligible to vote and those members 18 and older are eligible to hold an office.  The Fulton County Saddle Club is an organization that promotes the family union and creates a fellowship of people with common interests. We strive to generate a wholesome social atmosphere, exchange ideas, and become involved in bringing positive changes to our equine environment through education. We encourage a team philosophy. You do not need to be a resident of Fulton County nor is horse ownership required to join our Club - just the desire to make a difference and have fun!

We have recently been granted 501(c)(3) status! This status will enable our sponsors/donors to claim any charitable donations they make to our orgnization. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor/donor for one of our educational events or amateur even horse shows please contact us. Besides amateur competition horse shows, we plan on offering several educational seminars in the upcoming months. Topics to include:

• Feeding your horse on a budget and proper equine nutrition

Equine diseases, illness and treatment

Vaccination clinic

Educational clinics on showmanship, halter, and proper grooming

Unwanted horses, neglect and abuse, and the slaughter issue

A huge thank you to Willie Gombash and the building committee!!!! The arena building has been ordered. Thank you to the Fairboard for working with us to make this project happen! Construction should start after fair this year.

This year we also hope to offer deserving individuals (youth and adult), involved in youth and amateur equine competition , scholarships for college studies. Details have not been finalized yet so please check back.
