Sand Ridge Quarter Horses was founded in 1995 by Paula and Jamie Buehrer. We are located just northeast of Wauseon and 30 miles due west of Toledo in the heart of Ohio farm country. The farm started at slightly less than 6 acres and is currently almost 12 acres. It is situated on a glacier sand ridge, thus the name.

We maintain one or two quality AQHA broodmares that we selectively breed to leading stallions with the goal of producing high quality, confomationally outstanding, athletic individuals. We also maintain a small string of show and sale horses. We focus on showing regional and national AQHA shows and raising & showing futurity babies. Our homebred and raised horses have several accomplishments to their names; Hesa Close Encounter, a 2001 son of World Champion Encountered out of our mare Shesa Sequel, is a three time AQHA World Show qualifier (2002, 2003 and 2004), Open and Amateur ROM earner, futurity champion, and year-end high point champion in several organizations - good luck to his new owner Jennifer Jauron. His half sister, Gotta Getta Glimpse, was a multiple Congress top 10 and Congress top 5 and earned her Amateur and Open ROM's as well as being a 2004 and 2005 World Show qualifier. Alluring Touch, by Touchdown Kid, was named 2009 Region 4 Champion Amateur Aged mare and was 3rd at the AQHA Regional Experience.

While Paula focuses on raising & training the farms Quarter Horses, Jamie is owner or part owner of several Standardbred broodmares and race horses and spends most of his summer months racing at the County fairs. His very first race horse, Future Fox, was the 2002 Northwest Ohio Colt Racing Champion 3 year old filly.
