Welcome!

Check out this whole site. You'll learn a little bit more about me and also a little information about the California Retired Teachers Assn. (CRTA).

Here I am with my grandparents in 1936 in Southern California. The Whites are on the left and the Halls on the right. One Brown is also represented in this photo, and I had some Blacks in my family behind the Whites.

In this photo, I really wasn't thinking about becoming a teacher. That didn't occur until high school. School has been part of my life for almost all of it. It took me 14 years to get out of high school because I flunked the third grade. I spent four years at Cal Poly, SLO, for a B.S. (Their school colors are green and gold, as on this page.) I almost used purple and white for Pacific H.S.

I did my cadet (student teaching) at Strathmore, CA. For those of you who don't know where that is, it's between Porterville and Lindsey. I was the 20th faculty member, and the principal/superintendent gave me one key--for the whole school. He just said, "Have a reason to be there!" They even had a new TV in the cafeteria, but I found myself too busy to ever use it.
