PERSON-HOUSE-PROTECTION-Du`a

[Editors note: The following Du`a was given to us by Shaykh Hassan Cisse during one of his visits to Detroit, to be posted in the November, 1999 issue. Its purpose is "To protect yourself (body) , your family, and your property from what you don't like."]

"YOU WILL NEVER SEE WHAT YOU DO NOT LIKE IN YOURSELF OR YOUR FAMILY OR YOUR PROPERTY" (SHAYKH)

" A man went out one morning after saying this prayer. People came to him saying that his house was on fire. He said "Impossible, I know for certain my house is not on fire and went on about his business. Upon his return he found that all the houses near his had burned and that the fire had stopped just short of his house."

[Please consult Shaykh Hassan or someone else who was present at the time for a more exact rendition of the story following the du`a.]

[Editors note: Al hamdu li-llah we have reprinted the Du`a that was in the Nov.-99 Issue, with an English translation. May Allah forgive any errors.]

Bismi-llahir Rahmanir Raheem

Allahumma, anta rabbi, la ilaha illa anta.
Oh Allah, You are my Lord, there is no god but Thee.

Alaika tawwakaltu,
Upon You I have put my trust,

Wa anta rabbul arshil azimi.
And you are the Lord of the Magnificent Throne.

Ma shaa-llahu kana, wa ma lam yasha lam yakun.
What Allah wills is, and what Allah does not will is not.

La hawla wa la quwwata illa billahi, al `aliyyil `azimi.
There is no might and no power except by Allah, the Most High, the Most Magnified.

A`alamu anna-llaha `ala kulli shai in qadirun,
I know that Allah has power over all things,

Wa anna-llaha qad ahata bi kulli shai in `ilman.
And that Allah is well acquainted with all things that are known.

Allahumma inni a`ouzu bika min sharri nafsi,
Oh Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from the evil of my self,

Wa min sharri ghairi,
And from the evil of others,

Wa min sharri kulli daabatin.
And from the evil of every beast.

Anta akhizun bi naasiyatiha.
Thou takest by the forelocks.

Inna rabbi `ala siratin mustaqimin.
Verily my Lord is over a path that is straight.

Al Hamdu li-llah.
