CHECK OUT OUR STELLAR FACULTY AND WORKSHOP INFORMATION!

November 11-12, 2005

  • Are you passionate about the idea of writing and want to learn more about being published?
  • Want to make connections with an editor and meet others who share your passion?
  • Want to follow Ecc. 9:10 and learn how God can use your passion to minister?

You’ll find all this and more! Our wonderful faculty has decades of experience, and they’re eager to share their expertise with you!

This year we’re excited to offer mentoring experiences through Coaching Classes. Classes will feature three hours of instruction and feedback to help you get to the next level in your writing. Then on Friday night, you can enjoy a keynote session with Greg Webster and editor introductions. Saturday will be filled with two dozen workshops designed to meet your needs—and time to meet with editors for feedback and pitching ideas.

CONNECT WITH THE PROFESSIONALS

FREE APPOINTMENTS:

At the conference, you’ll be able to sign up for a free appointment with a faculty member to show him or her your manuscript, pitch an idea, or talk to him or her about your writing. Sign up is at the conference on a first-come, first-served basis. You can also chat with faculty members and others about your ideas at lunch, coffee breaks, and other times!

FIRST PAGES:

In this unique offering, an editor/agent panel will read the first page of your manuscript and discuss: Would I keep reading or would I reject this? Is there enough here to make me consider acceptance? Send in your first page, double-spaced, of any manuscript or poem, and $8 for your manuscript to be part of the panel line-up. A limited number will be accepted, so get yours in early. Guaranteed to give you insights you need to get published. Contact hacwn@earthlink.net if you’re interested.

PAID CRITIQUES:

We will send your manuscript (an article of up to 2500 words, or a book proposal with one sample chapter) to the faculty member of your choice. The person will come to the conference prepared to sit down for 20 uninterrupted minutes with you to discuss your writing. Most faculty members are willing to do some paid critiques (first-come, first-served). If the faculty isn’t with a specific publisher, we’ve listed his or her areas of expertise in parenthesis. This costs $35 per paid critique.
