As your guide to folk music on the internet, I've found a wealth of information and music online. Everything from artist pages to lyrics/chords/tabs to articles on how to use MP3s

ONLINE CONCERT CALENDAR:
Musi-Cal

To get concert information for any artist, city, club, or genre, check out the amazing Musi-Cal database. You can use the form below to get in:

Mudcat Cafe - home of Digitrad, a digital database (use online or download free) of traditional song lyrics and MIDI tunes
The Contemplator - great collection of traditional songs and MIDI tunes

mp3.com - a lot of junk - no, tons of junk - but hours of fun browsing and listening. There's even some good stuff there.

Bobdylan.com - official site has complete lyrics
Leonard Cohen Files - comprehensive fan site for the master.
Suzanne Vega - just a cool site for a great writer.

OTHER COOL SITES
Complete Poetry, Prose and Art of William Blake (http://jefferson.village.virginia.edu/blake/)
Complete with color facsimiles of the pages Blake printed using an acid etching process taught to him by his brother Robert - of course, Robert was dead at the time.... Blake's poetry is THE BIG DEAL. Period.

Peter J. Crowley (http://www.peterjcrowley.com)  Based in Willimantic, CT, Peter has done all of my black and white press photos (including the ubiquitous mylar twin photo). He also does amazing art photos. His philosophy: print to paper only what the eye sees through the lens. No post-developing computer magic - not even cropping. Check out his selection of portraits and art photos online.

Craig Frederick (http://www.sculptbycraig.com/) Based in New Britain, CT, Craig creates monumental sculpture in brass, steel and solder. He lent two of them for the October 1999 performance of Red Angel in Hartford.

Curbstone Press Books with a social conscience. Their motto: "Poetry, like bread, is for everyone." Work by Hispanic, Central American,  Vietnamese writers you won't find anywhere else. Poetry Like Bread, is one of the best poetry collections anywhere, especially for folks who thought they hated poetry. I wrote a pamphlet/manifesto for them on how to read poetry. They've also mounted some of my students' poems, written as assignments in response to the book.

www.priceline.com: submit bid with dates & credit card #, 24hrs bid accepted and charged or rejected.Be careful about specifiying times (I've heard of people getting overnight connections) and remember the variety of taxes and charges that can be added on. My most recent trip: $375 round trip to Zurich in spring. With extra charges, it came to $425. Still better than my travel agent's best research by $200. Plus, they sent me an e-mail offer for a cheaper car rental, which I used.
