Gypsy Wind SCUBA Adventures, LLC is dive instruction "for the rest of us."
Private instruction is the answer!
For those of us with schedules that don't match the dive shop's classes,
For those of us that are uncomfortable being tossed into a group of college students, or ending up with the guys from
the local pub to form a SCUBA class,
For those of us that would prefer a little more personal attention when learning to use LIFE SUPPORT EQUIPMENT like recreational
SCUBA gear,
Fear not--Gypsy Wind SCUBA Adventures, to the rescue!
Instructor Mike only does private lessons, or small groups such as a couple, or two couples that may want to make dive
training a social adventure, or perhaps a family--that's it--no "non-affiliated" classes.

Our History
Barbie and Mike have enjoyed being in and around salt water, both temperate and tropical, for over 40 years.
Over the 30 years of their marriage, they have owned a number of boats, and today keep a large sailboat
for cruising and several small boats for diving. They spend as much time as they can involved with their
boating and diving activities.
They also love to travel, and have lately become interested in eco-touring in the third world, to which SCUBA
diving lends itself perfectly.
This enterprise is how they have been able to bring these two interests to their friends. Mike
has certified many of their friends, thereby introducing them to the wonderful world of SCUBA diving and, best of all, to
dive travel.
When not SCUBA diving, traveling to dive, or sailing, Mike is Principal of an insurance firm in Los Angeles, and
Barbie is a homemaker. They have a daughter, Allie, who is a college student, a three-time All-American dinghy
sailor, and, of course, a SCUBA diver.

Our Committment
We will always have fun with this or we won't do it. Period.
We believe that SCUBA diving is the ultimate recreational pursuit. It is a sport, for sure, but one that is best
enjoyed without any competition whatsoever. It is simply about relaxation and the enjoyment of the underwater world.
We also are painfully aware that many people find dive training to be intimidating and almost "military" in its presentation.
WE WILL HAVE NONE OF THAT. Diving is for everyone, even the middle-aged (ahem!) and the somewhat less athletic.
We will show you the secrets for fun, STRESS FREE diving.
After all, if its not fun, why do it in the first place?
