Born in Rome in 1927. Professor of Art at The Cooper Union School of Art, New York. Has been living and working in New York for the past twenty years.

1943 Experiments in movie animation: “Piccolo Budda”.
1948 Diomira prize, Galleria del Naviglio, Milan.
University of Rome, School of Art and Architecture.
1949 Painting scholarship: atelier of Vordemberge Gildevart, Amsterdam.
1952 Fullbright scholarship for painting at Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut. Studies with Josef Albers
1953 Illustrates “Love”: a book of découpage and serigraphs, text by Lowell A. Siff.
1953 Moves to Paris. Designs color scheme for a 100 apartments housing project for the city of Villejuif, France. Joins a group of architects on color research for the “Cité Satellite”
1954 Works as color adviser on the Luciano Emmer movie on Picasso, his life and works.
1957 First prize awarded by the Club des Editeurs, Paris, for his illustrations of the children’s book “Contes de Cristal”.
1958 First prize awarded by the Club des Editeurs, Paris, for his illustrations of the children’s book “La Craie Magique”.
1960 Returns to Rome
1966 One year in Morocco.
First prize of the “Rhein-Tiber” award for painting, Cologne,
Germany.
1969 Designs and executes 28 sunscreens in serigraphy for the Imperial Palace of Reza Pahlevi, Kish Island, Iran.
1969-74 Works on polyester bas-reliefs combined with color projections aimed at time translations of chromatic interaction.
1976-80 Designs and builds an ecological dwelling and painting studio on the Island of Kythira, Greece.
1979 Moves to New York
1984-present Teaches at Cooper Union School of Art; lectures at Pratt Univ.;
Visiting prof at Hunter College; artist in residence, York Univ.
1989 Publishes book in Italy: “Quadri d’America”. Turin
