About the Author

Mike Strand suffered a traumatic closed head brain injury in a motor vehicle accident in 1989. Post TBI growth has become his passion. He lives a rich and full life in Oakdale Minnesota, honing his will on adversity.

Returning to work at Andersen Windows part time six months after his accident, Mike moved to full time four years later. He spends his Saturday mornings doing the New York Times crossword puzzle at the Daily Grind coffee shop in Stillwater Minnesota with his crones Carlos, John, Howard, Tim, Preston, Roger, and of course, Norm.

Mike and Linda were married on June 24th, 1989 six months after his accident. His goal in Rehab was to walk down the aisle unassisted at his wedding. He was able to do it, although in the video Linda looks like she's walking a doddering old man down the aisle. They love to travel and have been to Scandinavia, Central America, and the Mediterranean.
