Mike was recognized and honored for his volunteer efforts on behalf of all those effected by brain injury by Andersen Corporation
CEO Don Garafalo and president Jim Humphrey when they awarded him the 2007 Don Garafalo Volunteer Service Award. This award
came with a very generous $5000 donation to the Brain injury Association of Minnesota.
Mike spoke at the 22nd annual professional's conference on April 20th. His topic was "Helping individuals to dream big
and lead fuller lives." This year the conference was held in St. Cloud. For more information visit the Brain Injury Association

Mike's Big Brain Bash 3.0 was a wild success again in spite of the weather! Voice of Reason played to a rockin' crowd and
a good time was had by all. Several thousand dollars were raised for the Brain Injury Association of MN. This year we're especially
concerned about the returning vets (the most common poly-trauma effect is brain injury). Special thanks to our major sponsors

On February 10 Mike will receive the "Hands On Twin Cities Be The Change Award for healthy spaces" for his tireless
work in the interest of people with brain injury. He will receive a $250 check to the BIAM in his name!

Voice of Reason
Mike spoke at the 2005 annual conference on professionals day about counseling independence. By the end of the presentation
the room was overflowing and people were out in the hall.
Mike met with the courage center support group on Tuesday April 5th and had a great time meeting all the folks that were
there and looks forward to returning in the future.
Mike met with the Hastings survivor group at 6:30 on April 14 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church at 400 W. 9th St.
Mike spoke to the Epilespy foundation at 9:30 AM on April 16 about memory issues.
Mike will be presenting on "Continuing growth after rehab" at the Brain Injury Association of Minnesota annual
conference on May 21st.
Mike will be speaking to the Sister Kenny support group at
Abbot Northwestern board room across from the MacDonalds at the Sister Kenny Institute at 6:30 on June 1st.
