bullet 07/23/05  Carolyn Krueger's Gulistan Dance Theater has once again been selected to perform in the Ford Amphitheatre's Big!World!Fun! 08/02/03  Gulistan and its Chashma Music Ensemble will perform in the Ford Amphitheatre's Big!World!Fun! Family Series on Saturday morning from 10-11 am.  A cast of 20-plus performers will weave a tapestry of traditional dance, live music and tales from Uzbekistan to Tunisia, featuring the exploits of Nasreddin--the wise fool of Central Asia and the Middle East. Special guests will be Zahra Zuhair and the Eshta Dance Company, storyteller Marie Silva-Alexander, master percussionist from Uzbekistan Tolkin Isakov, and Eli Danker as Nasreddin. Adults - $5.00; Children -  Free; Parking - $3.00.  Reservations required.  Call (323) 461-3673 or visit http://www.fordamphitheatre.org.

10/26/03  Gulistan will perform from 2:00 - 2:30 pm at the annual festival of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Church located at 13003 Victory Boulevard in North Hollywood.  The festival runs from 12:00 noon until 8:00 pm.

10/26/03  Gulistan will perform selected Uzbek and Azeri dances in a full-length concert entitled "In the Garden of the Caravansary:  Dance and Music of the Silk Road" starring Vilayat Akilova.  Other featured dancers include Robyn Friend, Travis Jarrell and Louchia Tchoukhri.  Concert begins at 7:00 pm in Great Hall at Plummer Park in West Hollywood. Tickets are $15.00.

11/19/03  The Wray Theater at Rio Hondo College will present Gulistan and its Chashma Music Ensemble at 7:30 pm.  The program, "Postcards from the Silk Road," includes traditional dance and music of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, East Turkestan, Azerbaijan and Turkey.  Rio Hondo College is located 3600 Workman Mill Road, Whittier, CA 90601. 01/25/02 Four performances of Gulistan's educational program, Silk and Sand, at Century Park Elementary School.

03/02 C. Krueger served as music consultant for an NBC television pilot entitled "War Stories." The story was set in Uzbekistan and Gulistan provided three authentically-costumed musicians for a scene set in the Hotel Uzbekistan in Tashkent (actually the Park Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles).

05/25 & 26/02 Gulistan invited to give four performances of Central Asian dance at the MountainFilm Documentary Film Festival in Telluride, Colorado, as part of the "Mountains of Islam" symposium. Performances held in the Victorian-era Sheridan Opera House, the Ah Haa School Art Gallery, and Elks Park.

06/08/02 Gulistan presents a suite of Uzbek and Tajik dances on Cairo Carnivale's Bazaar Stage at the Glendale Civic Auditorium.
