Tickle toes
Tickle your little ones toes while telling them what you are playing with. Occassionally ask 'Where are your toes' after
a moment to offer them a chance, bring them into view, and tickle again. Vary the degree of actual tickling to your childs
tastes, some babies don't like more than a gentle nudge.
'Mommy kissed your ----'
Sung to the tune of 'The Farmer in the Dell', or any other song you like better. Fill the blank in with any body part you
like, nose, head, fingers whatever. Occasionally I trade 'kissed ---' for 'squooshed cheeks' or 'beeped nose', or something.
Patty cake
This old favorite works, kids like it! When babies still have the grip reflex, get them to grip your hands while you slowly
clap the rhyme, then you can switch to having them hold your thumbs while you 'clap' if need be. Eventually you will love
having your child try to clap the rhyme on their own!
Patty cake, Patty cake, Bakers man
Bake me a cake, as fast as you can
Roll it, and pat it
and mark it with a B
and put it in the oven for baby and me!
If your little ones name starts with B or any other letter rhyming with 'me', use their name and personalize it.
If their name starts with a letter rhyming with 'today' like J, or A, change the last lines to 'mark it with a J (or whatever)
and put it in the oven for Jname today.'
If the first letter of the name is O use '...for Oname you know'
