"...But that Bofa on the sofa, acts as if he doesn't care"

While reading Dr Seuss' 'Wocket in my pocket' I always get the impression the Bofa on the sofa is a parent to wrapped up in his paper to play with the kids, Now I don't read the paper but I do goof off online, and I don't want to be a bomputer on the computer! (or belevision at the television!)

I find I need my time alone, so I am not giving up the computer, but I do go out of my way to find times during the day where I am playing with my kids, hopefully some of it is purly spontaneous, and some of it is planned.

Home Educating is a great way to avoid the Bofa on the sofa complex, (like I needed another reason). When we actually do 'schoolwork' it is a great oportunity to be one on one with my children, and since we never force the kids to do any, it is always a willing fun event. Science expiraments are a great way to involve the whole family. We love mixing colors or using baking soda and vinagar. (better yet both!)

I also include them in my chores, wait I do that cause I hate working alone. Well they seem to like it, so I call it quality time.
