Of course this all depends on when you start.
For EC, use cloth diapers, disposable diapers or nothing (remember to be prepared to clean stuff!)while at home and diapers
while out. (pull ups are usually to big)
For Early or Modern traditional, I would go with pull ups while in public, and training pants, or nothing at home. You
still have to clean stuff but the training pants hold slightly more than regular underware. Combined with sweat pants or jeans,
you hardly ever have to clean the floor. Just do extra loads of laundry.
For When they demand it, go with what they asked for.
I would reserve Pull ups or diapers for use in cars and public, because they do not give a child the same sensation of being
wet (not even the newer ones that supposedly let you feel wet), and they do act like diapers for both you and your child.
They tend feel secure in knowing of course they can hold it and if not no big it is only a diaper. Parents feel it is ok
not to remind them to use the potty because it isn't like you have to clean the floor it is just a diaper change.
Back to potty buisness
We tried pullups with my son and had no luck till we switched to underware (he was to big for training pants). With DD we
went with pullups (big butt kids in my family), because I couldn't convince my husband to use cloth, yet.
