Below is a list of suppliers, vendors and services that I have used and my experience with them. A link here in no way constitutes an endorsement of a company or product. It's just a log of my experiences.
AACA and BCA Discussion Forums This is turning out to be one of the most important references for working on my car. The knowledge base represented on these forums is unparalleled. Ask a question and you will get an answer or opinion (most likely both). It's free but you will have to register to place a post. Membership in the AACA or BCA is not required, but shouldn't you join anyway?
Bob's Automobilia Has lots of good stuff. So far I have ordered gaskets (oil pan, valve cover, push rod cover), fan belt, tune up kit, carb kit, and a fuel sender from them. Prices are good, shipping fast and the parts were a great fit. I will definitely use them again and again.
Cars, Inc. Extensive source of NOS buick parts as well as reproduction parts. Shipping was quick, prices are competitive. Quite disappointed with radiator hoses from them. Bypass hose looks like it had been chewed off by a beaver. My 3-year old can cut better than that.
D&D Antique Auto Parts Great source for NOS GM parts. Sells a bunch of bearings, too. Prices are great. It's a side job so it may take a few days to get a response to questions. Parts shipped quickly.
David Entler Great source for GM wood kits. There's no website but he can be reached at djentler@msn.com.
Eastwood Company Great source for tools, paint, and other automotive related stuff. Great customer service and prompt shipping.
eBay What is there to say. Many, many good parts and such. Some of it's a good deal, some of it's way overpriced. Bottom line: buyer (and seller) beware. Just got ripped off for a Hollander Interchange manual. Guy disputed and revoked his payment with PayPal after I sent the manual. Anyone live in Clearwater, SC and want to knock on someone's door?
J.B. Donaldson Company The best of the best when it comes to steering wheel restoration. However, quality comes at a price.
Lewis Brake and Clutch These guys are located in Albuquerque, NM and specialize in antique vehicle brake and clutch restoration. They do quality work at a fair price. Turn around times are good too. Talk to warren for great service.
McMaster-Carr They have an amazing number of hard to find, odd tools, bolts, screws, etc. Over 420,000 items in their online catalog. Prices are good, shipping is quick and they sell to the public. Check 'em out sometime.
Nevada Radiator What can you say about a company whose slogan is "The Best Place in Town to Take a Leak". These guys do great work on radiators, heater cores, and gas tanks.
