Descendants of Patrick Earley

Generation No. 1

PATRICK EARLEY was born in Ireland, probably County Leitrim, about 1820. He appears in the city directory of New Haven in 1851-52. There is also a single sporadic appearance in 1846-47. A Patrick and Ellen Earley were passengers, not necessarily together, on the ship Columba from Liverpool to New York which docked on March 27, 1848. He is listed in the census of 1850 and 1870, the 1860 census seems to have missed his family. He died in New Haven August 28, 1878 of sun stroke. His parents on the death certificate were listed as Patrick and Rose.

ELLEN ..... was born in Ireland about 1825. She died January 22, 1877 in New Haven, Connecticut. No parents names are listed on the death certificate.

Generation No. 2

JAMES E. EARLEY was born September 22, 1849 in New Haven, Connecticut. His occupation was listed in the city directories as a sodamaker. He died November 7, 1875 of phthisis (pulmonary tuberculosis)in New Haven, Connecticut.

CATHARINE EARLEY was born February .., 1852 in New Haven, Connecticut. She died of scarlet fever on October 28, 1855 in New Haven, Connecticut.

ROSE A. EARLEY was born August 3, 1853 in New Haven, Connecticut. There is a listing for a Rose A. Earley in the 1920 census, otherwise the 1870 census is the last known listing.

PATRICK E. EARLEY was born November 20, 1855 in New Haven, Connecticut. He is listed in the 1870 census. Can't find him in the 1880 census. The family resided at 105 Lafayette and that address is missed in the 1880 census. He and John are listed as living there in the city directories for the years 1881 and 1882. He was living in New Haven in 1910. Need to find him in the census. He was living in on a farm in Bethany Connecticut for the 1900 census.

JOHN EARLEY was born April 7, 1858 in New Haven, Connecticut. He is not listed in the 1870 census (missed?). However, the city directories list a cigar maker named John Earley which may be this person. He died January 20, 1884 of phthisis.

CHARLES EARLEY was born August 7, 1860 in New Haven, Connecticut. He is listed in the 1870 census. Not sure what happens to him. A Charles Earley died in 1880 but i missed that reference and didnt record it to see who the parents were.

JOSEPH FRANCIS EARLEY was born September 24, 1862 was born in New Haven Connecticut. He is listed as Joseph in the 1870 census. Don't know anything else. Name may have been Francis Joseph.
