CORNELIUS HIGGINS was born September 28, 1793 in Killarney, Ireland. He married Elizabeth Agar February 15, 1816 at Killarney church. He was living in Killarney town during the Griffith's Valuation of Ireland in 1852.

THOMAS E. HIGGINS was christened August 1, 1824, Killarney, Ireland. He emigrated to America about 1846. I am not sure with whom he sailed nor the ship that they took passage. His first marriage is to Margaret McManus which seems to end with his enlistment in the Civil War. He is captured and is a prisoner at Andersonville in Georgia. In 1870 he "marries" Elizabeth Payne, whose first husband Andrew Morrison, a police officer, is killed in the line of duty. He dies November 6, 1911 in Newark New Jersey and is buried in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in East Orange, New Jersey.

BISHOP ANDREW HIGGINS was christened April 9, 1826 Killarney, Ireland. He was pastor in Listowel abt. 1875. He was Bishop of Kerry from 1882 - 1889. He dies prior to the death of his brother Thomas.

CATHERINE IDA HIGGINS was born September 7, 1876 in Newark, New Jersey. She was baptized March 25th, 1878 at St. Joseph's church in Newark. She marries James A. Pierce of England, February 8, 1899 at St Joseph's Church in Newark, New Jersey. They move to Alliance, Nebraska about 1905. They own their home at 619 Missouri avenue in Alliance City. In 1930 census, she is divorced and Marion is living at her mother's home with her husband.

MARY ANNE HIGGINS was born January 26, 1880 in Newark, New Jersey. She was baptized at St. Joseph's church in Newark on March 7, 1880. Like her sister, there appears to be no civil record of her birth. Mary married George James Kennedy at St. Joseph's Church in Newark on June 18, 1902. Mary died at All Soul's Hospital in Morristown on March 20, 1937 and is buried with her husband and parents at Holy Sepulchre in East Orange, New Jersey.

MARION S. PIERCE was born in 1905 in Alliance City, Nebraska (i think). She married Lewis A. Calkins in 1926 in Alliance City. No children by the 1930 census. Her death is not recorded in the SSDI.
