GSP RESCUE ASSISTANCE
The GSPC-OC is comprised of dedicated GSP dog lovers in private homes; none have commercial kennels or boarding facilities available to house the ever-increasing numbers of rescues needing new homes.  Our GSP Club is based in Orange County (Southern California), and the majority of our members reside in urban areas where city regulations limit household dog numbers, restricting us from keeping rescues. The reality is that Shelters and Rescue groups are already overflowing with dogs in desperate need of homes.  Therefore, we ask the owners of dogs needing placement to make every effort to find suitable homes for their dogs BEFORE placement is urgent.  We are willing to advise, refer and assist them with this process, and will post pictures and information about the dogs on our website free of charge, sending out updates to our members and volunteers for new postings.

If you got your dog from a responsible breeder (who will care about it and take it back anytime in its lifetime), honor your agreement and contact the breeder first for help.  Don't let your dog suffer because you may be embarrassed by your situation requiring you to give the dog up.  Otherwise, always spay/neuter your dog before placement!  It is the only certain way to be sure it (and its descendents) won't end up in a puppyfarm!

If you need to find a home for your GSP, there are excellent resources on the web on how to do so.  This Chow Chow Welfare Committee website offers great advice on what to do with a dog of their breed, but the same advice is applicable to responsibly finding a home for any breed of dog:  http://www.chowwelfare.com/cciw/findhome.htm

GSP RESCUE DOG LISTINGS
GSPC-OC Rescue Listings are limited to apparently purebred GSP dogs to be place as household companions, in private homes only, and must be spayed or neutered.  The owner/agent of the rescue dog to be posted must agree to disclose any and all known behavior or health problems of the rescue dog, and represent it truthfully as to the circumstances of its rescue situation. The GSPC-OC is not responsible for verifying any information about posted dogs.  We can also post 'Lost & Found' GSP dog ads with pictures for you if your GSP goes missing, or if you have found one.

GSPC-OC Rescue Volunteer Advisors
Our volunteers may be contacted by email anytime, or by telephone between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m., PST.   If you leave a message for a volunteer, please give your contact number(s) and email address clearly, and they will respond as soon as they are able to your request for assistance.  If your number requires toll or long distance charges for the volunteer, the GSP Rescue volunteer advisor may call you back collect.
