We made our own skin lotion at the January 14 meeting. In the interest of time, we used a pre-mixed lotion base. One of the
dads poured lotion into clear plastic 4 ounce jars. We had the following scents to choose from:
Twigs and Berries
Wild Berry Zinger Tea
Kiwi Raspberry
Hearts and Flowers
Plumeria
Cotton Candy
Snickerdoodle
Just Peachy
Cucumber Melon
Many of the girls mixed more than one of the scents together to come up with her own unique combination. We used red,
blue, and yellow food color to mix in our own colors, and again, many of the girls mixed several colors together. We had
peach lotions and orange lotions, pink lotions and red lotions, pale blue lotions and green lotions, and lavender lotions.
The girls also used markers and stickers to decorate labels for the sides and tops of their lotion jars. Each girl made
two 4 ounce jars of lotion.
We talked about Girl Scout Cookie sales, since it's officially Girl Scout Cookie season. I had brochures and order cards
for all the girls. We talked about selling rules and guidelines, suggestions for selling, what our sales goal is, and important
dates for ordering and delivery.
The troop's goal is a big Build-a-Bear party at the end of the school year.
