QUESTION: Dear Gandharva,

Thankyou for your reply to question which gave me plenty to reflect on. In essence I understood that I was doing myself harm by not putting my work and career issues into enough perspective. This I am working on. Do you have any indications about the direction my work could take which would leave my mind clearer? I am still working as a freelance english language teacher, and am hoping to move towards giving public speaking seminars.

ANSWER: Dear Nick,

Your Career Nature is governed by Mars. This gives you the potential to do passionate work, or to be passionate about your work, to be good at organization, activity, jobs that involve quick bursts of energy rather than sustained energy, independent jobs, spiritual and philosophical undertakings, writing, teaching etc. When I look at your Dharma, Career Nature and Spiritual Nature together what I see is a real potential for counseling people in some way. You have a natural ability to listen in a very empathetic way, giving the person the real feeling that they are being heard in a non-judgemental way. You are then able to offer very balanced advice. With Mars there you are also able to be very inspiring to people, always getting them to do their best. The public speaking idea is okay, but I'm feeling that something along the lines of being a "life coach" or some other counseling work would be ideal. To become clearer about this important area of your life I would suggest a forty day sadhana of the following mantra to increase the energy around your career:

and a Mars Yantra to be hung in the career area of your home.
