Gunsmithing Technical References
The Gunsmithing information available through this site is material I used to teach Gunsmithing and Police Armorer courses. I taught for eighteen years as a Gunsmithing Instructor, Police Armorer Instructor, Department of Corrections Armorer Instructor, P.O.S.T. Armorer Instructor and Police Firearms Instructor. My A.A. degree is in Gunsmithing and my B.A. is in Manufacturing Technology Education with breadths in Law Enforcement and Liberal Arts (apologies here to true liberals).
Much of the information available here is not generally available as it comes from factory service manuals, out of print texts or deals with obsolete firearms. I cannot take credit for the original factory information or information contained here which may have been developed by other Gunsmiths. I will credit them wherever possible.
I have a HUGE backlog of material in development and expect to spend my waning years making it ready for delivery.
This material was developed from:
- Old Factory Field Service Guides
- Gunsmithing coursework used to teach in the A.A. Degree
- National Match tools and Techniques
- Police Armorer Course materials (P.O.S.T. approved)
- Information garnered from other Gunsmiths and factories
My process here is to make the gunsmithing information that I have gathered available in e-texts.
Should you find material you need, you can purchase it through PayPal. If the material can be sent via email, I will send you the zipped file. Once the file is installed you use your Browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, etc.) to view and print the information as desired. For larger texts such as the Police Armorer CD or the compiled 1911 material, I will priority mail the material to you on a self loading CD rom.
I hope you find something here you can use.
Thanks,
Glenn Simpson
