FALL 2007 REPORT:
Wellll, after a two year submersion in work and other obligations, we dragged some junk out to the
annual AOMCI wet meet at Salt Springs, eastern central valley of CA. Perfect conditions. The D mod works, the 55H worked
(um OK, one of the two we brought did) and the 20h is horrifying! I can't believe I used to race stuff that nuts!
Sooooo, lessee if this link to youtube can work. Another experiment in NeTechnology. Nephew Daniel with a leetle digital
camera came up with this. C- for video quality, A+ for sound TURN IT UP, and B+ for the overall affect! :O) Thx again!
Low 80s in a DMH with a medium course cleaver all the way down on the transom. No point in setting up for higher speeds,
since low water made the lake, um, well, SMALL at that speed. First time we've run one of these with megaphones....very different
from the expansion chamber system seen in photos elsewhere on this site. I think it accelerated better before getting into
the pipes. Gawd that is scary going that fast. Other cool stuff there as well.
Interesting, we get smokin BSR ride with 1:1 gears and a DeWald KG4H 3blade. Didn't punch like a 16:21 of course, but it gets
rollin such that you almost don't have to work the boat it hangs so well. B motor on an A boat....mebbe just a little too
much lift.
Some of these photos were cropped dramatically, since the boats were a loooong ways off...hence the lack of crispness.
Thanks to Giant Nephew DANIEL for kickstarting me into this trip and wrenching and lifting for three days, in return for which
he got his first BSR, DSH and DMH madness exposure. :o)
Wayne's ChampMerc is a 20 cu in Champ powerhead, 25ss Merc gearcase, Merc saddle/clamp assy, and a tower made of rectangular
tubing that doubles as the gas tank. Very cool. Weight is way low and light.
Airborne
Yeah, it slows down when it airs out like this....

Therz a reason I don't race this stuff...toohairy
It's been so long I'd forgotten how horrifying a DMH is at low 80s with a short course wheel
Ooooh, shiney parts!
Fixin' Eric's rewind, I think. Or trying anyway.
Eric Gunderson Craft. Wayne navigating.

First photo like this we've gottn....loooong ways off. too much lift with this prop it would seem.

SALT SPRINGS AMUSEMENT PARK OCTOBER 2008
In short, the details set forth on another page herein all conspired for this thing to launch. Another verycool art motor
lives! I'll try to set links here for more youtube stuff, but I often blow it, so you'll just have to search youtube for
unkiemotorhead yourself....
ANNNNDDDDD since it's so slow, it's possible to hold a weeny little digicam while motoring, instead of hanging on for dear
life as we do in the 44mod... ;oP. Someday we'll overcome fear and good sense and run the Konig on this boat. Not this
year....
NOW SOME 44 HYDRO STUFF: Now here's an interesting thing....note that about 5-6 seconds into this video, the boat picks up
12-15mph as the motor finally starts breathing through the expansion chambers. I think it's faster than the megaphone motor,
but the punch isn't as good.
note the sound difference between this and the megaphone motor earlier on this page. Um....well why not?
