These are the steering knuckles for my new front end. The way I made them was, I cut the pattern out of 1/4" plate, drilled the three holes in the flat plates, two 5/8" and one 1/4", stuck in a couple of 5/8" bolts, had them welded than I heated and bent the plate.

I made some drawings with AutoCad to get the angles.

This is the AutoCad Drawing of the right arm. I find it easier to cut and drill if you cut out the shape (on paper) and glue it on the piece.

This is the drawing I used to get one of the angles for the steering arms. A trick somebody told me a long time ago was to get the angle of the steering arms, just draw a line from the center of the king pin to the center of the rear axle. This will give you the angle you need to get the akermaann steering effect. It comes pretty darn close as far as I can tell.

Turns out somebody was full of Crap when they told me that, if you want the real skinny go to this web site and download one of his spreadsheets. http://www.eland.org.uk/steering.html

This is what the front end will look like (I hope).

Finally! I may be slow but I'm klutzy. All I have to do now is get it chromed.

Here it is in all it's chrome plated splendor. The chrome plating situation in Southern California seems to be getting better ... I only had to wait a month this time.
