Kendra is a 2007 honors graduate of Central High School in Memphis Tennessee with a cumulative GPA of 4.6. Her
accomplishments there includes being inducted into the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor
Society and the National Beta Club. She is a repeat recipient of the Memphis City Schools William H. Sweet Honors Award.
She is a member of the Ladies of Roses Mentoring Organization and Central's Concert Choir. She was also selected
for the Tennessee All-City Choir and the Tennessee All-State Choir honors. As a member of Central's Dance Team
her squads have placed 2nd in the nation and 4th in the nation in the Small Varsity Hip Hop division of the UDA National Dance
Team Championship held each year in Orlando Florida. She is a recipient of The Memphis Area Teachers' Credit Union Scholarship,
The Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Alpha Eta Zeta Chapter Undergraduate Scholarship, The State of Tennessee Hope Scholarship, The
University of Tennessee at Knoxville University Scholarship and the University of Tennessee at Knoxville Promise Scholarship.
She will be attending the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in the fall while pursuing a career in Education. She
will be eternally gratefull to Rev. & Mrs. Shannon for their encouragement of Greer youth to strive to achieve. Her
proudest moments as an A.M.E. was her induction into the West Tennessee Conference 2007 class of Christian Debutantes and
Masters.
Future Educators...
Kendra is one of six lucky students who have been chosen as recipients of the Memphis Area Teachers
Credit Union Future Education Scholarship Award. Each recipient will receive a $2,500 annual renewable scholarship. Winners
can receive up to $10,000 over four years as long as guidelines continue to be met.
