Answers:

1. What are the plans for the metal button project?
   Greenlights will produce 50 sets (initially) of aluminum MKII-style buttons with newly designed knobs. The parts will be available with a brushed or polished (chromed?) finish. Lit metal buttons will be offered with a replaceable unobtrusive colored fiber insert in the drilled center of each part. The new knobs will ideally fit both MKII and MKIIa players and may also have a lit option.
2. Can I get metal buttons in different finishes and colors?
   Additional finishes and anodizing in different colors may be an option, but this is not yet known. This may be difficult due to the small production size.
3. When will these be available?
   The release date for the metal buttons is not set. However, it is anticipated that the project will not take long. To receive a notification when they become available, please see the metal buttons page for more information.
4. Won't metal buttons short out my button LEDs?
   Metal buttons will not short out button LEDs because they are actually machined aluminum caps which will be perminantly fixed to clear plastic MultiMec buttons. The plastic buttons have the complex notches required to fit the empeg / RioCar button switches. This not only prevents the metal from shorting the LEDs, it drastically reduces the cost, making this project actually possible.
