The Well Was Dry!

Stopped to read the poems this morn,
Some smaltz, some mystery, and plain ole corn,
But when I chose and depressed READ,
No messages! I miserably failed to succeed!

Now I'm deep within a dark despair,
There was no tiny piece of love to share,
I hope the day continues not so bleak,
Oh dear God, so begins another dismal week!

I sit and look through tear-splashed eyes,
Stunned, and mute in dark surprise,
Cannot believe that Debbie Silas,
Left no writings here to beguile us.

Where is something from the Bard?
Can he be so callous and hard?
What about that April Whited?
Caught unawares and still abed?

Surely, you can depend on Mark,
Off from school, enjoying a lark!
Even thought of sweet charming Chris,
I tell you folks, something is seriously amiss!

Where's the rest of the contest from Pat?
Oh woe is me! I throw in my hat!
All the others who post so seldom,
I could go on and on ad absurdum.

But time has come to close this missive,
I fall to my knees, blue eyes beseeching,
I've been converted, a poetic anal-compulsive,
Write to me now, or I'll really start SCREECHING!
