BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!! Wrong, brimstone breath!
My God is all powerful. He allows us total freedom to determine our own course. He offers a bit of a cheat sheet called the Bible, that gives you the edge if you have the sense to use it, but mostly He keeps His hands off, therefore blessing us.
Oh, He steps in now and then with His white hat, but being all-powerful, we allow Him those triumphs. The Challenger tragedy is a blessing in disguise if you see what has happened to the space program since then. That is why God allowed it to happen.
To strengthen the resolve of NASA and the United States. You will note that we just signed an agreement with eleven other nations to build a space platform. Nearer my God to Thee? Possibly, but definitely following our God's desire for us to rise (pardon the pun) to the best within ourselves, the God-ness of each of us.
He also has not expunged you, therefore proving that He does keep His hands off. He celebrates our triumphs over evil, and mourns our lost astronauts, but He welcomed them into Heaven so He celebrated with them in His arms soon afterwards. This is an all-powerful God who is strong enough to allow us to make our own errors and grow from them.
Being all-powerful, He made us in His image (meaning He gave us the total freedom to choose between right and wrong) therefore granting us the greatest gift of all, total individual freedom to recognize Him and to align ourselves with Him and His purpose. Not, to grovel and beg for crumbs, but to stand beside Him as His most magnificent manifestation of all.
Too bad that in your world, God is a malevolent being that trashes everything that displeases Him, or at a whim, takes out a school bus with a drunk. Must be downright horrible to envisage your God that way.
God bless you Ralph, I am working on the ability to do the same myself.
