Poems & Sonnets Date : 03-Nov-90 thru 09-Nov-90 From : Dale Malone To : Michael SmithSubject : Phrases of Origin and Phases of Moon
MS> Thanks Dale, I'm glad you did.
MS> I always enjoy whatever I've said.
MS> Course I don't have to edit the stuff
MS> Usually writing it is funny enough!
I'm happy that you're glad,
Non-enjoyment is a trip, and oh, so bad,
Certainly don't want you to edit your stuff,
Like grandma said, “It's better in the rough!”
MS> That's so true, Dale whom I have named right
MS> (Poor old Derreck was ready to fight)
MS> But then Grandma liked everything rough
MS> Remember those big leaves that she called snuff?
Senseless it is for fisticuffs,
Misnomers are popular among BBS buffs,
Grandma, the weed, never did smoke,
But Ben-Gay to my nose does a memory evoke!
MS> Please tell Ben to stay out of your nose.
MS> Seems anymore that is where everything goes.
MS> I would rather sip through a straw
MS> Than in my nose have any at all.
But Ole Gentle Ben, was a bear you
see,
Nothing nefarious twixt him and me,
I'm sure your words, above you writ,
Will endow your life, imbued with spirit.
MS> Each to his own though, I must profess.
MS> It's easier than being under duress
MS> of wondering always, which way to turn
MS> Or this or that fire to burn.
Pulled by your peers, pushed by
friends,
Always the pressure seems your future depends,
Putting on blinders and just going straight,
The goal of many, but woe, not all our fate.
MS> Now I've come to the absolute end
MS> Of creative Genius, Dale, my friend.
MS> However when you reply to this page
MS> Once again I will be up to this stage.
The verses tumbled from your mind,
Forcing me to respond in kind,
But if you choose now to desist,
Count on me Mike, not to persist.
MS> Ah, persist on Dale, the good Bard
MS> Continuing so is not very hard
MS> When exchanging lines with a man of your ilk
MS> The words flow on out... smooth as silk.
I have scarce e'er had a problem
stopping,
Keeping in bounds of yon editor oft takes lopping,
Funny to see what your poetic replies doth trigger,
Responses from me, they flow... go figure!
MS> I rather enjoy this exchange that we're having
MS> If some others are probably raving
MS> At all of the time that they must use
MS> All of our lines them to peruse.
Well, since they do not
participate,
Let them read, stoop not to hesitate,
The lines to you most recently writ,
Have blessed my mind and rais'd the spirit!
Just one idea from this
grey-beard,
Change the style, let's trash the previous,
Going on and on is just too weird,
Won't tax my talent, not the least, grievous.
Written by Dale E. Malone, Combat
or just fun?
