Dew Sparkling Like Diamonds

Dana,

Well, you will get thousands of cards from young men who love you, and here is one from me:

The morning dawns bright and sunny,
Dana has not signed on, isn't that funny?
No cute quips, no lovely rhymes,
Gee, I thought she would leave a Valentine's

Well just to show her I'm not upset,
I will compose this piece while dripping wet;
I miss her words, and silly “grins,”
Tales of her skating and dizzy spins.

The ups and downs of boyfriend, Rob,
That's the name of her latest heartthrob;
Now she's mad at girlfriend Lisa,
Her daddy is glad she don't have a Visa.

Sometimes she's mad at the whole darn world,
Runs to the mall to get her hair curled;
Back to the house, this lovely lass, (gotta be careful here)
Out to the yard, to cut the grass. (whew!)

Her room, oftimes just a jumble,
From Colleen's lips, there sounds a rumble,
Now it's time to hit the books,
Life is more than just good looks.

I wrote this poem, just for you,
Up in the morn, grass sparkling with dew;
Hope you read this when you get home tonight,
To tell you Dana, you're a real delight!

Happy Valentine's Day, Witty Young Lady.

-Dale (Gramps)
