Words That Are Hard to Express

Here is my bouquet and heart-shaped box of chocolates for all you ladies out there, lovely and patient

When we begin to mope and pout,
You are there to help us out;
You leave such poignant words of wit,
It often provides insight, just a bit!

When at end of day, we finally rest,
You fill our bellies with your culinary best;
When into the fresh-made bed we creep,
Oh, the alternatives you offer for sleep!

If we stray from straight and narrow,
You are there with a wheelbarrow;
Bearing our sorrows and our dreams,
Bringing into our lives, delicate moonbeams!

When we forget and do a bad deed,
There you are to help us, back on our steed;
If our armor is tarnished and turning dull,
You find the polish and rub it bright with wool!

To the words we have seldom expressed,
You keep it inside you, we have transgressed;
Hoping you forgive us, fools that we be,
We love you so, it is easy to see!

We drop these words, each like a petal,
Drifting into your heart, proving our mettle;
This offering accept, laid at your feet,
Please love us and keep us, 'til next we meet!
