I'm guessing you're as anxious to see Spring as I am. A lot of change that takes place when the weather starts to warm up. As the trees & flowers begin to bud, we anticipate the beauty that's about to blossom. Have you stopped to thank our heavenly Father for the rain or snow that He sent this past winter? He takes care of our bodies and souls even when we don't stop and think about it! The Holy Spirit works in our hearts to build up and grow that faith that was planted there.

We have a tremendous opportunity as Christians. God simply wants us to "plant the seed", or in other words, share His word. He will take care of the results! Just like we have faith that the seeds we plant in Spring will grow, God promises to grow the Word that is shared and spread. The prophet Isaiah speaks about the power and effectiveness of God's word in chapter 55:12 where he writes, "So is my word that goes out from my mouth. It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." We can take comfort in the fact that God is always in control and will always be with us in our mission efforts.

I challenge you this Spring to get to know our 2009-2010 Befriend A Mission assignments. Lift these missionaries and their families up in prayer. Think of ways to encourage them as they continue spreading that precious Word of God with countless souls. Please see your congregation's Reporter for more information.
