To Rate Or Not To Rate
Ratings: you can give them, mine them, hate them, or have a lot of them. Ratings increase your weekly stipend (or decrease it if you have lots of negs). A hard part about ratings is knowing when to give them. I'm not a fan of rate mining, but I enjoy receiving them. For me, I have to really like or dislike something or someone to rate it. If I like a build (Apple Store SL, Timeplunge, Americana), I'll rate it for building skill. I typycally don't rate all three at once. It just doesnt make sense to rate someones appearance if you haven't met them av to av. What system or rules do you use when you rate?

I don't have a set system, but my attitude toward ratings has changed over time. Early on, I looked at ratings as a goal (receiving them, that is) and actively worked to bestow and receive ratings. Based on various readings and thinking(!), I decided to change my strategy a couple weeks ago and now only offer ratings when I have really had an enjoyable experience/encounter or see a build or avatar that is really interesting. I don't usually triple-rate - try to use the ratings as a real tool now.
Yeah, I stopped tripple-rating a long time ago.
