Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Found
a video of "St Louis Browns" on youtube. It is the audio playing with a series of still photos from this humble site.
I know this because it includes the made up cassette of "Topanga Skyline" and several other pics that are not available anywhere
else. I included it in Odds and Ends for your enjoyment.
Just found this new video of the Byrds on TV. The
show is called "Country Suite", the quality is not great, but very cool. Part is bluegrass with Gene Parsons on banjo
and Clarence White on Mandolin. It's is on the Odds and Ends page. Also updated a few other videos. Enjoy!
Here it is, the anniversary of Skip's birth. He would
have been 75 today. Lets all listen to some of his music in his honor today. I myself am listening to "Don't
Go Crazy" now...
Also, when contacting the site, please put skip battin in the subject line, some times I am
reluctent to open e-mails with no subject for fear of viruses. Thank you.
I was there in the beginning,
playin California Rock and Roll...
In searching for infomation on the internet about Skip Battin I have been
not been able to find any tribute sites. He was a Rock and Roll pioneer, a member of The Byrds (IMO the best line
up), The New Riders of the Purple Sage, The Flying Burrito Bros as well as having a steller solo career and was also
an accomplished studio musician. Yet there was hardly a ripple in the media when he passed on in July of 2003.
This site will attempt in some small way to right this massive wrong.
