Michael and JoAnn's Classical Music Page

Michael's next performance will be in Carl Maria von Weber's Der Freischütz with the West Bay Opera chorus. The cast brings back many of the principals from West Bay's 2008 production of Der fliegende Holländer, including Ben Bongers as Max and Paula Goodman Wilder as Agathe. Performances are at the Lucie Stern Theater in Palo Alto on February 19, 21, 27, and 28. The Friday and Saturday performances are at 8:00 pm and the Sunday performances at 2:00 pm. Tickets are available online or at the box office.

JoAnn's next performance will be with the Stanford Symphonic Chorus singing Beethoven's Mass in C, Op. 86, conducted by Stephen Sano. Performances are February 26 and 27 at 8:00 pm at Stanford Memorial Church. Tickets will be available online or at the Stanford box office.

Michael published "A Selected Bibliography of Concert Band Music" in the Journal of Band Research. It was published in two parts in Volume 18, No. 2 (Spring 1983), pp. 12-35, and Volume 19, Number 1 (Fall 1983), pp. 26-51. He was also a contributor to Norman Smith's Program Notes for Band.
