ClassesHere are the classes that our instructor, Kathy Jackson, can arrange for you. Please contact us for more details about each course and about class schedules. Kathy is a Master Instructor and is affiliated with Smokey's Divers Den, Lancaster, PA. While all of these classes can be scheduled for locations in and around Lancaster they'll be a lot more fun if you combine them with one of our trips. Discover Snorkling -Headed for the islands on vacation? Try out our Snokeling class under the supervision of a PADI professional in the safety of our heated pool. Learn the proper way to kick, clear your mask, and take good care of your equipment. Get the MOST out of your snorkling experience!! Bubble Maker -Children as young as 8 years old can experience the joy of diving in the safety of our heated pool. Bring your children in - or schedule a pool party - and give them an experience that will change their lives!! Discover Scuba -All you need is a swimsuit and a towel. This is a three hour, try it and see if you like it course. Give us a chance - we're sure it will change your life! This course can also be credited towards your PADI Scuba Diver, or Open Water Diver course. Discover Scuba Diving -If Discover Scuba in a pool is too tame for you - try Discover Scuba Diving! In just one day, we can have you safely diving with a PADI Professional to a depth of 30 feet. This course can be conducted during warm water trips - or in local facilities!! Scuba Diver -The newest selection from PADI - this three module course can have you diving with a PADI Professional to a depth of 40 feet in just one weekend. Available locally or on island trips - this is a certification course, and allows you to purchase your own equipment. Divers who are "hooked" can continue on for a full Open Water Diver rating, and can take PADI Specality courses. Open Water -Experience the Smokey's Advantage, and begin diving in the first class!! This PADI course consists of 5 fun and easy training modules. Classes finalize with 4 open water training dives which may be at a local facility, or in the islands. When you're finished, your certified to dive to a recommended maximum depth of 60 feet - and can continue with even more PADI specality courses. Advanced Open Water -The next logical step. Advanced Open water consists of five specialty dives, including night diving, deep diving, search and recovery, and under water navigation. An advanced course allows you to get more experience and training under the supervision of a PADI instructor. Refresher Class -A review of basic skills for the already certified diver. If you've been out of the water for awhile, or just want a brush up your skills, this course will get you ready for your vacation. Lasts one evening. Rescue -The first professional step. The PADI rescue course teaches you how to rescue yourself and others. Very much like lifesaving, Rescue is a necessity for anyone looking towards the PADI professional track - and is a great education for the weekend diver. Divemaster -Assist with classes, lead trips and supervise boat dives. The Divemaster class teaches you the proper way to supervise divers within the PADI system. Peak Performance Buoyancy -Polish your buoyancy control beyond the open water level - and take part in PADI's Project Aware helping to protect the world's reef formations Drysuit -Learn how to dive dry. You'll never be cold again - and extend your diving season all year round. Our class has special recoginition from PADI for it's wider than normal coverage and scope. Deep Diver -Develop your theoretical knowledge of deep diving and learn how to plan, organize and make no decompression dives between the depths of 60 feet and 130 feet. Medic First Aide -A must for anyone. Learn PADI CPR, and first aide for many different types of injuries. Make a difference in someone's life Underwater Navigator -Learn how to navigate underwater where you can't see your normal land marks. Learn the use of compasses and natural navigation. Night Diver -Learn about the special skills needed to dive at night. See the nocturnal wildlife and experience your favorite dive site in a different light. Underwater Photography/Videography -Improve your photography and videography skills with this well rounded photography course. Develop your knowledge of photographic principles, composition, film types, strobe and available light photography and camera handling techniques. Wreck Diver -Diving meets archaeology - learn how to safely and easily dive shipwrecks and about the social and legal issues surrounding wreck diving. |
