Cabo San Lucas - October, 2000
Kathy's still working on the official write up and we're still waiting for photos to be developed. So in the meantime our resident poet, Carole, has put her own spin on the trip:
They got us to leave at 2:00AM, a quite ungodly hour!
Most of us didn't sleep at all, some didn't even shower.
They bribed us to get on the bus with champagne and "monkey balls"
(probably hoping we wouldn't notice we were in for a long haul!)
"Go west, young man" the saying goes, so to the west we flew.
No one had been to Cabo San Lucas, for us it was all brand new.
Kevin headed up the group - we booked his whole crew
Local diving, across the bay, Gordo Banks, Cabo Pulmo, too.
Sea lions, hammerheads, moray eels, and electri manta rays,
All of these are diving memories we will remember all our days.
A free meal at El Galeon - at least that's what we were told.
However, thanks to Solmar Suites, a la carte is what we were sold.
We were all warned quite wisely by our resident lawyer, Sue,
That staying out of Mexican jails was something we should try to do.
There was no shore diving this time and only one dive at night.
So some went on a fishing boat and landed Wednesday night's delight.
Friendships old and friendships new - with every trip they grow.
It's so great to have commoraderie - that much I do know.
And so another week has passed with lots of fun and satisfaction.
Our thanks go to the two who keep us together - Jim and Kathy Jackson
