The Second Coming

John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

I have been asked many times what the answer is to the troubled times in which we are living.  People are suffering economically, emotionally, physically, and especially spiritually.  The ultimate remedy for all our problems as Christians is the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ to this earth.

This event will take place in two stages.  First, there will be what we refer to as The Rapture.  I Thessalonians 3:13-18 explains that Jesus will bring those who have died in Christ to receive their glorified bodies.  Then the living, born-again Christians will be glorified and be taken up to meet the Lord in the air.  Following the Rapture there will be seven years of Tribulation in which God’s wrath will be poured out on the inhabitants of the earth.  Most of the earth’s population will die during this period. (Read Revelation 6 – 18)

At the end of the Tribulation Jesus will return to this earth to reign from Jerusalem for the next one thousand years. We call this “The Millennium.” (Revelation 19-20)

The question we must ask is not, “Will Jesus come again?” or, “When will Jesus come again?” but, “Are you ready when Jesus comes again?”  The only way to be ready for Jesus' return is to be sure you are saved according to the Bible.  If you are, the Second Coming will be the fulfillment of ultimate joy.  If you are not saved, the Second Coming of Jesus will be the end of all hope of Heaven for you.  You must be saved before He returns.  If you would like to be saved, click How To Be Saved and follow God’s instructions in the Bible.  Then join us in serving Christ until He comes again.  Let us know if you have been saved so that we can share in your joy and send you some material to help you in your Christian life.

Personal Notes From Pastor Hartline

November 10, 2009

A Busy, But Blessed Day Sunday!

We had a wonderful day Sunday with a full schedule of preaching and teaching.  Of course, I always expect God’s blessings at church.  I am privileged to pastor a great church where people pray for the services and for one another; and as a result, God gives great services every week.  Along with preaching the radio broadcast and two church services and teaching the adult Sunday School class, I was blessed to get to attend and preach in the “101 Men In Black” conference at Providence Baptist Church in Cherokee County with Mike Rainey.  These folks really know how to get a preacher to preach!  There were six of us preachers, and as soon as we announced our text the “Amens,” encouragements, and shouts began.  Each of us were given eight minutes to preach (of course Mike Rainey can’t tell time), and the people and preachers loved every minute.  I want to thank Pastor Waters for the blessing of allowing me to preach in his church.

Sunday night we observed the Lord’s Supper at the end of the service.  What a sweet, precious spirit filled the church!  After remembering the body and blood of the Lord Jesus Christ we dismissed by singing “Amazing Grace.”  What a blessing to see tears on cheeks and hands raised in thanks and praise to the Lord for His wonderful love in giving Himself for our sins!  And what a wonderful way to end the day!

I hope you have a great week.  Ask God to lay someone on your heart to invite to church.  Call or write those members that you missed last Sunday, and let's look forward to great services next week.

I Love You,

Brother Richard

How I Learned To Mind My Own Business

from The Sonshine Bulletin #37

I was walking past the mental hospital the other day, and all the patients were shouting, '13....13....13.'

The fence was too high to see over, but I saw a little gap in
the planks, so I looked through to see what was going on.....

Someone poked me in the eye with a stick!

Then they all started shouting '14....14....14'...
